Instrumental Celtic trad five piece Mad Kelpie Playdate formed in 2017 through a mutual love of high energy bagpipe music and even higher energy crazy dogs. Based in Queanbeyan and the surrounding region, they combine small pipes, uilleann pipes, flute, guitar and percussion - giving a lively modern take on traditional Celtic music, with influences from bluegrass and pipe bands.
Mad Kelpie Playdate won an award for one of their instrumental works at The Australian Celtic Festival 2019. Their debut performance in the Gunning Courtroom the same year drew unsolicited rave reviews from the audience. They are definitely back by popular demand.
